Welcome to the Functional Cell Morphology Lab

We are interested in the molecular mechanisms that build and shape a functional nervous system. While enormous progress has been made in recent years, it is still not completely understood how migrating axons identify their targets, or which signals are produced in order to build and maintain synapses during development. We are trying to answer these questions by combining genetics and super-resolution microscopy with the functional analysis of key-regulatory proteins in the model organism Drosophila melanogaster.
